Looking for trap ammo

Anyone know where I can get 12ga light target loads for my son to practice trap with? 2 3/4g, 1oz, 7 1/2 or 8 shot. We will need cheapest case price as he will be practicing alot. Any help would be great. Thanks

I used to shoot alot of trap and worked as a trap kid for years, and I never really saw much difference in loads between brands. Some guys would swear by AA's or paper Federals. My Dad and I reloaded most of what we shot. If you going to be buying shells for practice, I'd stick to the 100 packs at WalMart. They are the cheapest I have found. It all comes down to you choke, shot size, and dram.

I know this is off track a bit. but i bought a 100 count box at walmart. i guess what i was looking for was bigger shot more for home defense. what a bought was more for target shooting.

If he is going to shoot a LOT you should seriously look at reloading. It's not too expensive to get started and you can save a bundle.

I always started the season by ordering 3 cases of Remington STX target and 3 cases of Winchester AA from Gamaliel Shooters Supply.

Order a divided shell bag and keep your hulls then reload them as you have time. I used a MEC reloader and could load a box in about 10 minutes max.

With the price of shot where it is right now, reloading shells really isn't worth it.

The last time I was at Wal-Mart.. they had a quite a bit if the trap stuff.

Remington game load at wally world is 50 bucks for 250 rnds. here. 8 shot seems to work good in my gun when i am out playing around shooting skeet.

bought some Rio trap loads from our coach, 250 for $50. Looked at walmart here and no luck.

Rio is good/cheap stuff. I use it and some of the Fiocchi loads when I trap/skeet shoot.
