Gen 5 Glock 19

Well, I treated myself and purchased that Gen 5 Mdl 19 Glock today. Couldn't resist. Price was right. Going to need to get some rounds through it. Had to pay 460.00 + sales tax and 10.00 nix check fee. Had to show Barret Firearms my DD 214 to get that price on Veterans Day. Glocks are ugly, but everyone I have owned have been reliable. Hope this one does not have the "throw BIF" problem my Gen 3 has. Let you know when I can get out to the range, however it will be a few days. Got other fish to fry right now.

Hope you enjoy new Glock  I have a 19 x and I have never had an issue and there are a ton of upgrades they also have great aftermarket support

Glock quietly fixed the brass to face problem without acknowledging it. I had a Gen 5 19 for a while but I have wide hands and didn’t like the flared mag well.If I get another Gen 5 it will be a full size frame.

On my gen gen iii19  got brass in face using an aftermarket one piece recoil spring.  Glock springs did not do that.  Not sure why one would and the other not???

Easy. They're two different designs & each affects the slide speed in different ways. Slide speed is 99% of where the brass is flung, IMO. The ejector plays a good part in that as well, of course.

I was trying not to offend     Some people are adamant that you must have a full length steel guide and enhanced spring.  Personally, I think Glock got it right.

My Gen 3 19 Glock, when only using WWB practice ammo, will fling one to the face every now and then. When using full power ammo it has never sent a spent casing back toward my face.  The Winchester White Box ammo is downloaded for practice.

Well............... that's not always wrong. People whom reload will make loads ranging from mild to wild. Using different springs helps control the ejection depending on the recoil. 

I would contend 99% of pistol mfgrs do their recoil springs to handle mild(er) loads so as to allow the gun to function with most loads. Hotter loads just speed up the slide using the same spring. 

I've always upped my 1911 springs buy a couple of lbs to prevent slide/frame battering. They all still ran like a top, just with a tiny bit slower slide speed.

If people get offended by that sort of thing, they should stay well away from the internet, IMO.

Yep and there is where my opinion comes from.  I reload for accuracy and low recoil (speed).  Hence the factory springs work fine for me.  I have been accused of using talcum powder rather than gunpowder
