Vista remembering last folder?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am about to pull my hair out. My laptop has Vista. Every other computer I use has XP on it.

When I find a picture I want to save, I right click on the picture and "save image as" select my folder and then save it. If I decide to save another picture, I right click on the picture, "save image as" and XP remembers the last folder I just saved to. Vista does not. Why?

In vista every time I right click, and save as, the "download" folder always comes up first. I would love for it to remember the last folder I saved to, so that I don't have to dig through the folders, when I find a lot of pics that I want to save in one place.

Any suggestions on changing this setting?

I dumped vista and went back to XP. Now I'm happy again.

I am not one who usually gives up on a new windows system so easy. (Hell, I stuck with ME right until the end) LOL

There has to be a way to change this setting.

Thats wierd my Vista always remembers the last spot I downloaded to. There might be a setting you can change. I have only had vista a few weeks but I really have no problems with it. The little security warnings are annoying but its not bad.

I have got over the security warnings.

I am using Chrome. I will go back and see what IE and Firefox will do.

I feel like a Dumb A$$.

I found how to change the setting in Chrome.

For anyone else:

Go to settings

Click Options

Click the "Minor Tweaks" tab

Check the box next to "Ask where to save each file before downloading"

Problem Solved!
