Are you talking about a block and tackle

We use a truck to pull with and a 120 foot cable. If not enough room to lay out the cable we will use a snatch block to the base of a tree to get a good angle to help the tree along like we want. We have tried a tractor but it did not move fast enough, almost lost a tree a few weeks ago.

No, though I suppose that would work pretty well, too.聽 A continuous rope puller looks like a come-along, but it works with any length of rope. One threads the rope through the puller and it can pull any length.聽 The advantage over a cable is that the rope will stretch and provide tension.
