Deer Processers Mid State

Recommended Posts

We have lost a couple recently that have provided a service for quite a few years. Sues and Lancaster's have called it quits. I had to hall my first one to Walkers in Lebanon formerly Lebanon locker. Roy is still there and it was good to see him. Many times I've seen them unable to accept more Deer because they were full to capacity. I feel certain they have been the victims of no one wants to work anymore and by their self are easily overwhelmed. Sumner, Trousdale and Smith have a need for few smaller operations to keep up the harvest quota.

We usually process at home, but Flowers Farms Nashville and C & F Meat in Triune were our 'backup plan' if we couldn't get it done.   I know people that had used both and were happy.

C&F has permanently closed.

Flowers as far as I can tell is still open for deer (nursery closed for season) but with all the staffing issues everyone is having these days I would definitely call first.

There’s a fella almost at the end of US231 in Bransford (Sumner County) that processes deer.

Do not take this as a recommendation as I do not know him and have never done business with him.

I am at Flowers right now.  I am #16 in line.

There is a place called Potts Meats in Watrace which has good reviews, but they don’t take meat already deboned and trimmed.

If you have it deboned and trimmed, you’ve already won the battle and don’t need a butcher.

It took me an hour to get through their line.  They said since it was basically ready to process, they would make it tomorrow and would probably be ready for pickup on Wed or Thur at the latest.  Hard to beat that these days.

If I’m going to Flower’s, it’s because my wife and kids can eat a whole deer’s worth of summer sausage.
