Yes, it was only a matter of time, my order yesterday was the first time I've seen tax being charged. Boy did I live cheatin the revenuers out of their 9% over the last couple years while other online sites had already started adding TN tax.

With the dwindling FFL discount, its makes it harder to have Brownells be my go with their prices having also gone up a touch.

I think Midway is gong to be more of a stop on occasion.

Yup, its happening everywhere and on everything you buy. Even Gunbroker is charging sales tax now. So be careful how much you bid. That gun may end up costing a lot more than you thought. 🙄

Plus now Gun Broker is charging an additional administrative fee for them dealing with collecting and remitting the tax.  I'm not sure if that fee is being paid by buyers or just sellers, but it sucks.

That's a 1% "compliance fee" paid for by the buyer.

You can thank Bezos and Amazon for this highway robbery 😞

Definitely not a blame thing, just a FYI / notification for those that may not have known. Just like I being the one to dropped the notice about GB, same reason. TN was one of the last for them to implement (later also for GB). It was a good run.

All these are rooted in the Wayfair Supreme Court case that the vast majority of states supported getting the prior ruling overturned which exempted online purchases in the absence of a physical presence in a given state. Like said, it was a matter of time.

They will rape you on shipping costs. Pay close attention that charge when you check out.

I only buy their during their regular free shipping periods.

I have edge with brownells for same reason.

I rarely buy from Brownells, mostly Midsouth Shooters. Tax is there, but prices are usually better, cheaper shipping than Midway.

Also, on GB, most sellers charge 3% credit card fee.

I like Midsouth I usually pick up my stuff in person, so no shipping charge. I know it’s not practical for people that don’t live near them.

They're about an hour & half from me.
