Winchester 1400 with a Jammed Shell in the Chamber

My 1400 semi-auto 12ga. has a round in the chamber and the action will not open. I can load and unload the magazine without issue but the action only pulls back about a half-inch before stopping. Removing the trigger assembly does not release the action. Any ideas?

Live. It's the scattergun I keep under the bed. I went to unload it this morning before I left and it was jammed, so I unloaded the mag, left the safety on, and locked it in the safe. I live alone so there's no worry of idiots getting ahold of it.

Shoot it.

It can't hurt, and if it doesn't work it keeps you from trying to work on your shotgun with a live shell in the chamber.

Went out in the woods behind the house and fired it off. It ejected like normal. Ran a full mag through just to be safe and had no malfunctions. Neighbors weren't too happy, but I'm outside city limits, so it's all good. :)
