Anyone know of a shop/dealer carrying Harris bipods in Middle TN/Nashville area?

I just got a new 26 inch bull barrel .204 Ruger upper for my AR addiction and this thing HAS to have a great bipod system. It's freaking heavy! Duh, stainless steel does that, I just had no idea till I got it pinned on a lower and hefted it to my shoulder.

Now, I have a Versa Pod purchased from Rock River Arms, but to be honest, it is to loose and does not latch on well to anything but a Pic rail. The standard attachement has lots of wiggle room and will eventually bang up the finish on a rifle, don't waste your money on these.

So, back to the question, anyone know a shop carrying Harris stuff? I want to attach one to the rifle before I buy as this has to be rock solid!

....and before you ask, I'll post gun porn later when I get the stock I'm waiting on.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Let me look in my parts pile when I get home. I think I might have one I'm not using anymore.

We normally have several models in stock, and I would think that most shops would carry Harris since they really are the gold standard.

If you cant find one locally, let me know.

Will do Joe

I really need to be able to "try it on" to make sure whatever bipod I get matches up nice and tight to the free float. I may get to break it in at Stones River this weekend.

no problem. I have one but it's a model number "25" series 1A2. From the paperwork I've got with it, it looks like its for a bolt action rifle, not an AR.

I've got to go to Franklin Gun Shop Thursday, I'll look and see if they have any. I seem to remember seeing some. If you have a particular model in mind, let me know.

:)thats essentially what this is, a round free float tube with your standard swivel point attachment for sling. I don't know the nomenclature for it but its the type that has the single hole in it and you attach a sling by pushing one side of the sling buckles link in and rotating the "link" out of the way, insert the rod that is now open and then rotate the link back into place and release. Wish I could recall the name of that sling attachement system. I don't have pic rails or a bayonet attachment on this thing.

Heck, here's a pic of the upper.

When I go pickup my AR pistol from Rocky in Franklin Thurs I'll look

1. to see if they have any Harris stuff on the shelf

2. if they do and they have one like mine, I'll find out if it's all there and how it fits

Mine doesn't look like it would fit...but it's been years since I monkeyed with it so I could be way off base
