My wife was passing by this store as it was happening and had just went in a day earlier. We’ve always known this would inevitably “hit home”, but it still made my skin crawl thinking about “what if”.

She has however agreed to a new weapon and to attempt on body carry.

My brother in law’s brother was shot twice. He’s in stable condition and expected to recover.

How is he doing?

Recovering. There’s really not much more to say than that.

prayers go out to your family.

considering the new carry law does it strike anyone strange that no one else was packing? I maybe naively believed that more would do so. Events like this I show my wife as reason why I always carry. You just never know.

There was early talk about a possible second shooter.  That makes me think there might have been a potential "good guy with a gun" that didn't get the job done.  Of course there could be another explanation for that early rumor.

I think that a Kroger worker or contractor was up on the roof which led some to possibly assume a second shooter. They showed a video clip of him on the local news from someone’s cell phone camera.

Not at all.  There may have been other people in the store that were armed at the time but the reality is most people do not carry a gun around.  Even those who do I would not count on being the mythical “good guy with a gun”.

Exactly. Given the opportunity, I'm running the other way with everyone else.
