Titans get slaughtered in their home opener where they were a 3 point favorite & Vandy WINS on the road at Colorado State? On a lesser note, Arkansas thumps Texas as well? Welcome to the SEC, Longhorns! LOL!

To quote Gomez Adams in the Family Values movie, "Has the world gone MAD????"

Vandy won after getting thumped at home by ETSU. Go Bucs!

And yes, welcome to the SEC, Texas.

I mean, I’d be questioning the state of the world more if the Titans weren’t terrible.

It’s always a good day when they lose.

One possible (likely?) explanation is that Colorado State and the Titans are really, really, bad ...

Perhaps. But we KNOW Vandy is really, really bad.

Regarding the Titans...it's Week 1.  A lot of teams (and bettors) get their assumptions punched in the mouth the first week of the season.  No cause for alarm yet.  I don't think they do better than they ended up last year, but I doubt they'll revert to the scrub level of years past.

As for Vandy...don't expect football results from a baseball school.

Texas administrators, coaches, and players ares going to love the money from being in the SEC...their fans when it comes to the win/loss record, not so much.

Hyped by the Nashville media, each season, the Titans are expected to make a Super Bowl run. Not happening. The Titans won their Div. because the Div. was very weak. Same thing this go round. They'll win some games, maybe the Div. again, but the bus stops there, or close by.

None of that approaches the train wreck of my beloved Washington Huskies. They were 40 point favorites in their opener and lost to MONTANA!!!!! ARGH!

Reading the preseason predictions by all the sportswriters in the Tennessean on Saturday and then seeing the game on Sunday convinced me that this Nashville and theirs are not in the same universe.  The Titans were laughably bad.  I bet even the players' mothers turned the game off.

Now, that Cleveland-Kansas City game....

I was pretty pissed at how the KC defense was playing until the 4th qtr when they made a great stop and the offense gained the lead. Even better when they got the interception that totally screwed Cleveland.

Take a knee, take a loss.

The very reason I DO NOT WATCH, SPEND MONEY ON OR CARE ABOUT SPORTS ANY MORE!!!

I still watch football , but I skip the opening ceremonies. The Star Spangled Banner is usually screwed up by putting their own spin on it. I start watching at kickoff.

I’ve all but lost interest in pro sports.  “I refuse to practice because I want $20 million instead of $18 million” got old, and that was before kneeling and black anthems.  My daughter’s competitive soccer team is more interesting to me than any sports on tv.  We have recently gone to a couple University of Memphis womens soccer games to see how the experts do it.  About 2/3 of the team is Canadian and one is from Japan and another is from Iceland.  All stand at attention during the anthem.  If only Americans knew how to act.

I lost interest in pro football long before the Oilers moved to Memphis for a year, then went on to become the Nashville Titans.

My concern is they are going to jack up college ball with all this NIL gotta get paid BS and social justice crap.

I still enjoy the sport.  Professional xball players are incredible athletes, and I'm always impressed at the skill and dedication required to play professional sports. But what turned me off to watching are the commercials. Change of possession? Commercials. Time out? Commercials. End of the period? Commercials. Of course that all goes back to how much the athletes are paid; that money has to be generated somehow. But the continuity of the game has been destroyed.

Commercials have gotten totally out of hand. I timed one barrage a day ago, just out of curiosity.  6 minutes. Ridiculous!  There were more throughout the program.
