Always check your ammo!

Was at the range today (shooting some reloads I bought there) and found this gem:

As you can see in this shot, it even comes with dented brass as a bonus:

one of the reasons i don't shoot anybody reloads except my reloads. but it is good to check the ammo, reloads and/or factory.

That's the new tear drop wad cutter!

Superior aerodynamics from the tapered rear of the bullet yet crisp clean paper cutting from the flattened nose!

Still working on the feeding and range issues but I'm sure the company will get those worked out soon.

That's a Tennessee Cartridge reload from Range USA, isn't it? That's all I shoot with and have never had any problems (at just under $100 for 500 rounds, are you kidding me?), but I have seen them funny shaped a time or two before.

I believe it would have been a classic FTF with major setback when trying to feed that puppy in the chamber!! LOL

Please tell me it didn't make it to your magazine?

Yah, my Glocks eat that stuff like candy. In the box of 500 I bought yesterday I did have three with bad primers, which is pretty unusual, but the ammo also looked dirtier and well, less 'quality' than it normally does.

One of my kids jokingly told me I was lucky I saw that as I would have been shot in the shoulder had I fired it. hehe

I figured it wouldn't make it to chamber as well.

Nope! I don't overly scrutinize, but I check every round before it hits the mag. Some things (like dented brass) aren't so obvious, but stuff like this certainly is...

Ok what is wrong with it I'm a newbie to WC's?

It's not a wadcutter. It appears to be a FMJ loaded backwards. What you see is the ass-end of the bullet, the cone is down in the shell.

The reloading person was probably using a progressive machine with a bullet feeder and got one in backwards. As the OP states, always check your ammo!
