Knoxville gun show March 14 & 15

Recommended Posts

Daniel, thanks for looking for a model 11 for me. If anyone knows of a Remington model 11 (particularly in 20 gauge) that needs a loving home, PM me, please.

Mike, whafur you buy that thing? I have a nice Walther PP that needs a home. For you, special price. ;) I've got, I think, 10 or 20 boxes of 32 ACP ball in the closet, too.

Ummm, Garands - If things go as planned, I am going to the South Store before the shoot. I should have 2 or 3 'new' Garands along with the 3 I currently support, in the rack at the April shoot. I'm going to get as much of the Greek ammo as I can afford/carry home.

I reckon this might be it...

Yep, I reckon it is of that direct ilk...good find.

I'm surprised it's not older, figgered it was in same era as the FN Mike got the show before.

The one that said 9mm Mak on the side may be what I ended up taking home.

Well, I looked at that Makarov 9, too, but I thought sure Mike's FEG also said "makarov" in pretty big letters on the other side. Could just be a 60's flashback though, I guess. ;)

Mike .357, please clarify??

edit: okay, just read your post above : I guess it was the brown acid from '69.

Mak - Mac, hey wanna make a deal? :screwy:

Wow, you crack yourself up. :D

Mark don't rule out the PP for me yet. This FEG is no more than one of them guns that pass through the night. I will not keep it. LOL. I will move it as long as I can break even on it. Thats all I am really interested in with guns. I only own about four keepers. Everything else is always for sale, LOL.

Mac, no where on the pistol does it say Makarov. Here is the other side.

john I think we got equal deals on those pistols. The only reason I picked the .32 was it was shinier. I found a place that sells mags, seems they have one specifically for this gun. If I have mag troubles I may order one. I have not given up on what I have though.

Funny you should mention it Mike, best deal I saw all day was on a handsome little pistol before the doors opened too! :screwy:

Good to meet you Mac.......good to see Mike, Daniel, and John again! I had a good time, sorry I lost you all for awhile, but tried to get my moneys worth before I had to take off. On a good note, the car I went to sell.....sold. So I may be back at the show tomorrow to bargain hunt :D

Looks like you found yourself a nice piece there Mike.......I'll be along to buy it from you before the next show! ;)

Sooooooo......tell me about the deal on these Rock-ola carbines?

I'm not sure how many passes someone with a table gets into the show, but I'm thinkin a few of us should split a table for the next show and let the deals come to us, and we can sell off our extras at the table.

That ain't bad thinking. The thought has crossed my mind before. I am not adverse to trying to move some things or trade. Whats a table cost?

Maybe if we had a sponsor. hmmmm TGO hmmmmm

Good to see you again too.

There were alot of M1 carbines in the house. There was the one guy who is always there with his display of refurbs (put back into WWII configuration). Very nice stuff.

There was the lady, who on her table had an Enfield M1 Carbine! Big sign hanging off of it and everything. She could not be convinced that Enfield did not make that IBM Carbine but I really didn't try to hard.

There was a table with two Rock-Ola carbines. One for $500 the other $550. I kid you not. Rock-Ola receivers and barrels. One had a Rock-Ola recoil plate. They were rough looking. One was a Blue Sky import and had that clearly engraved on the barrel. So that ruins one. The other may have been an import with markings under the wood. I just don't know. The $550 one had better finish but was still rough with M2 slide and stock.

As rare as those are I walked. Just did not have a good feeling about them. With these things sometimes the parts are worth more than the whole but me, I don't want to fool around with worrying about B.S. imports ,which are reputed to have problems or worthless barrrels, welded receivers, etc.

I may be a fool, but the Holy Grail of carbines does not jump out at a boy like me for that price nor are I inclined to buy the thing just for the receiver. They were there all day.

I'm thinking a sponser would be great! Wouldn't TGO like to sell some hats & T-shirts up here on the East Side?

Last time I checked it was $60.00 for a table, not sure if its changed. If we could split it three or four ways and take turns minding the table and gear while the rest cruised the show it might work out pretty well. Maybe trade some of our extras without having to lug 'em around the show.

I'm gonna have to check out my dads carbine when I get back home this summer. His is a near perfect Inland if I remember right. He bought it for $89 back in the early '70s if I remember right. We used to have a ton of mags and surplus GI ammo. I think I thinned it out pretty well when I was a kid.....but should still be quite a bit left.

Another thing I noticed.

Lots of Federal Bulk 550 Rd boxes. Several sellers having lots of it. Best price I saw was 20 bucks. I would have bought it but I am flush with .22's ;)

Since SUNTZU mentioned it, there was a LOT of Walmart ammo for sale there. I have never seen WWB in 100 rd packs, much less those in .45auto. And these Federal .22's

Mike.357, nice pistol you found there, just be careful not to shoot yourself or anybody else when you do the stunts and flips in that shooting video!;):D

I know somebody who tried to do similar stuff and knee-capped himself,

no it wasnt me.:screwy:

Man, I was there for 3 hours I think. Looked the place over several times. One guy did have stripped lowers (AR15) for $175. Several people had misc parts but no barrels. Another guy have upper assemblies and LPK's for $750. (Stupid prices) Some dealers were talking and laughing about how ammo was selling. I think he said he sold 60 boxes in an hour...had to be .380

I was thinking about heading down there. Was going to go yesterday but daughter had some b-day party to go to so didnt make it. Do you guys think its worth it to go today? I know the deals are gone. Anyone see any ruger Mark II or III anywhere?

Also on the splitting a table and a sponsor type thing, is there electrical power at the tables and do they have Wi-Fi internet? I am asking because I might be willing to sponsor/split to get the word out about the auction site.

Just got back, the gentleman who sold me this said that yesterday was a madhouse.

DSCN0143.jpg

Also picked up 60 rounds of 7.62x54r and 100 rounds of 7.62x39. And a Don Hume holster for my model 64. My firearms fund special envelope now has $3 in it.

yesterday was a mad house. by the way SUNTZU.....i was in line waiting your call at 8:30. I was WAY up front in the line, probably about 40th in line saving a place for you and all the other TGO'ers. Where were you??? you were to call me....I was huddled under my umbrella staying dry, didn't notice any stranger than usual people so I didn't know who was TGO'ers and who weren't. Anyway, I was there for about 2 hours, did find some Accurate #2 powder (average price) and some impossible to find small pistol primers. Federals, again average price (Bass Pro= $7.00/100 - what up with that???). Couldn't believe all the peps waiting in line in the rain to get into the show. Line was backed up around building when I went in, still that far when I came out. Went back to show around 2:00, still backed up around the building. Anyway, same ole flair, just found something I needed this time. Oh and BTW, SUNTZU, I think I passed by the guy you rolled in the cow excrement with, dang....water don't cost that much, use a little....

bubbiesdad, nice beretta, if you bought it yesterday between 3-5, i passed right by you, since a lady and You were examining it and the dealer was just showing and saying and then all you do is close the barrel etc.

Life is strange sometimes.:screwy:

PS. Who is bubbie?:D

How did you not see OhShoot and his TGO sign?

My only explanation is I was too busy gabbing and didn't pay attention. maybe we should have a meet and greet one weekend at the IHOP or some place, that would make it easier to find you.
