Brass Knuckles

I did some searching on here but didn't find a clear answer so maybe someone can clear this up for me.

I understand it is unlawful to use brass knuckles or carry them blah blah. What about just having them in your home for "novelty" purposes, such as a "paperweight"?

:D

tn code annotated 39-17-1302(a)(6) illegal to own, unless this law has changed.

Actually brass knuckles are 39-17-1302(a)(7)

However 39-17-1302©(1) says...

It is an affirmative defense to prosecution under this section that the person must prove by a preponderance of the evidence that:

The person's conduct was relative to dealing with the weapon solely as a
curio, ornament or keepsake
, and if the weapon is a type described in subdivisions (a)(1)-(5), that it was in a nonfunctioning condition and could not readily be made operable;

If you have brass knucks or switchblades, you can keep them home as a part of a 'collection'. I collect all sorts of things. I do not carry either in public and even go out of my way to put such articles in the trunk of my car when transporting them in TN.

I used to know a guy that carried a roll of quarters in his pocket.......you know, in case he ran across an arcade or something.

I've heard bums and other street urchins have been know to carry screwdrivers as stabbing weapons, as carrying a screwdriver isn't in anyway illegal, although carrying a good old fashioned BAK (Big Ass Knife) would be.

With the new Obama savings plan you can just get one of these $1.25 rings that G. Gordon Liddy sells for $300

Haha, did you read the story about the "fighting ring"? I find it kind of funny that they are selling a reproduction of something that was meant to be made out of piece of pipe in the prison maint facility (and could be purchased for a carton of smokes) for $300 large :rolleyes:
