If you’ve never stopped and got food from a roadside Mexican taco stand, don’t cheat yourself. I doubt there’s any better food on the planet. That is all.

Agree completely. When in High School (along time ago) we went to a hole in the wall Mexican place near the Toledo airport whenever we got a chance. About 20 years ago I heard the restaurant was still there and asked some friend that still lived in the area, planning to stop in when we were back visiting. They said don't bother, very mediocre, some one bough them out for the name and built a fancy new building and did not keep any of the kitchen staff that knew how to make real Mexican food.

I have found a few more over the years but you have to drive the less traveled roads to find them.

If you are in Nashville, there are numerous along Nolensville Pike. Also there is at really good one at the service station across from the Walgreens on 8th ave.

Also, years (and years) ago (mid 90’s) we did a project in New Braunfels, TX at the Symons Corp facility. Every morning a local would stop by to sell breakfast burritos and sodas out of a cooler in their trunk. You could get two burritos and a soda for about $2. Darn good eating.

Men who eat genuine Mexican food from roadside vendors are infinitely less susceptible to COVID-19 and Tetanus.  It's science.

El Tapatio #2 near Allied Drive and Nolensville road (actual sit down restaurant) is also really good. My co-workers swear about the tacos, but I always get the grilled chicken (from the grill out at the street) it freaking rocks.

The Parkland flea market across from Cedars of Lebanon state park has a dozen or so Mexican food trucks every Sunday.  I've had several good meals there.
