Not going to go overboard, but initial shooting impressions of my new Rock 1911 in 10mm are quite favorable.

Went through 75 rounds of Federal Champion 170 gr loads like...well...like a Champion.  Only cycled 1 mag full of 10mm Hornady Custom 155gr jhp through with no feeding problems.  Did have the first Hornady round fail to fire.  Re-cocked hammer and it went off.  Not sure if ammo or gun.  Since the Federal went off fine, will just keep an eye on it.

Only problem was I could not adjust the rear sight at the range, Bud's in Sevierville.

The screws required a larger handle flat blade screwdriver than my trusty old S&W revolver take down tool.

At home it adjusted easily though.

Will go out to my sportsman's club when it reopens, hopefully soon.  Can't stand indoor ranges like Bud's$

Didn't expect this much quality from a 399 1911.   Impressed so far.

ps:  Oh one negative and it is not the Rock:  Bud's shooting stalls often deflect handgun ammo cases back into you or the weapon.  It did the latter and put nice brass marks on the slide.  Will probably just ignore them as it is a working carry gun for "Barrrs" and "Wherewoloves" and the like

I haven’t yet shot my Rock 1911 10mm.  Looking forward to doing so though. Reckon I need some ammo!

If you can find a buddy to go halves with I like S&B for 10mm. It’s loaded hot and not to .40 specs like a lot of range ammo. It’s my go to range. Also I wish every distributor would follow S&Bs packaging, takes up far less space in the safe.

These guys take a couple days to ship but no tax, free shipping and it’s always taped up and wrapped in discreet packaging.

Find a buddy to split a case at a hair under .40cpr. Almost 30% cheaper than buying by the box with tax added. Stings a little less.

Second time out and happy with mine

reliable feeding and decent accuracy. Adjustable rear sight allows me to get a spot on hold. It was set as a combat hold but racked rear up enough that it now shoots dead on

Gosh, it can throw brass very far away 😁

Traded for an RIA .45. Have not gotten to the range with it yet but expect it to be a good shooter.

If you want a brass throwing machine, you'll have to run a mag or two through a Firestar. I used to shoot at On Target and when I had the Firestar I'd go into the corner lane to keep from annoying anyone else. Learned to stand in a certain spot to keep from getting hit in the side of the head by rebounding brass. They'd bounce off the end wall then the back wall and hit me in the back.
