I had been looking at a compact carry for a few weeks, and wanted one in the 1911 style. I had narrowed it down to a Kimber Ultra Aegis II (9mm), but after talking with several folks, decided to go with a traditional .45 1911. Saw this one and tried it out. Loved the way it felt in my hand, and I was already planning on adding a Crimson Trace at some point down the line, so why not just get it already built in. Can't wait to try it out.

Very nice! Kimber's been running full-page ads for the Crimson Carry in a lot of the gun rags for months, and I always have to stop and drool a little. I've got the 4" Covert myself, but I've always wondered how a 3" 1911 shoots. You'll have to let us know!

This will be my first compact .45, so I'm curious on the recoil. Gonna head to a range by my work during lunch to test it out. I'll let you know shortly.

I bought that exact gun last september and love it! Shoots wonderful and hasn't really missed a beat. Still haven't got thru the 500 round break in yet (poor vet school student) but I had 1 FTRTB in the first 250 rounds when it was super dirty and using the factory mag. The KimPro TacMags are excellent and I suggest picking up a couple. I got mine from TheArmory.com and they were pretty cheap.

Thanks for the heads up on the magazine, I'm having trouble getting a 7th round in there. I went to the range during lunch and it shot great, I was really amazed how well it shot and the accuracy as well. I can shoot it better than my 9mm Beretta or XDm .40, and there's not as much recoil as I thought there would be. I love this gun!

Yeah the recoil isn't bad at all. Accuracy is amazing. Its way more accurate than I am. It disappears pretty easy too. I am 5-10 and 160 lbs and i can wear it with jeans or shorts and an untucked polo shirt with no printing. Here is a link for the mags http://www.the-armory.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/KimPro%20Tac-Mag%20comp.html I think I may have put the wrong address above. Its the best price around for a great mag. They get you on the shipping but if you buy several its worthwhile. If you can't tell I am huge fan of it.

Thanks, I figured it out. At first it sent me to a trading card game website or something, ha! They are out of stock right now apparently, so I'll have to check in later. Thanks again!

Sure.

My snubbies are roscoes, and my semis are heaters.

But they're all rods and gats.
