Glock 45

Never have been a Glock fanboy, really, and not sure why, except I didn't like the Glock 30 I had years ago.  Anyway, recently traded for a Glock 45 and, while I haven’t shot it yet, I do like the feel of it.  Anyone shot one much? What are y’all’s thoughts on this model?

It's my favorite 9mm Glock ever.    They simultaneously got rid of the finger grooves AND frontstrap mag scallop, both of which resulted in a less-than-optimal grip on previous frame designs.  The front slide serrations are very welcome too.

I traded for one last month, it's a keeper, posted a review in another thread.

Just re-read it.  Good review, thanks.

The model 45 has become a favorite amongst LEOs all over the country. I have been on ranges with many people who say they shoot the 45 better than a 17 and 19.

What mag. capacity has the Model 45 got?

It takes any 9mm magazine a 17 will take; 17 plus.

I have the 45 G5 and a 19 G5 MOS. I love the ability to swap the lower. Never an issue using quality ammo.

I have to admit, that a decade ago I went from a total dislike for Glocks, to a total appreciation. I love the 45! Already had a 19x that I really liked so grabbing a 45 was just something that had to happen.  Shoot, be safe, and enjoy!

Ya’ll are about to talk me into trying the 45 model. I’ve been reluctant since the shorter slide and longer grip seemed a strange combination for concealed carry.

It is but it isn't.  And it really isn't when you throw a threaded barrel in it and pop a Parker Mountain Machine Gen 5 Comp on the end of it.  Basically a hair longer than a Glock 17 and a hair shorter than a Glock 34, and it shoots almost as flat as a .22LR 🙂

If I had to pick one handgun to take to a legit gunfight, this is the one I'd take.

That’s the same configuration a Colt Commander has and it was considered the ultimate carry gun for a long time

Went to the range Saturday and shot a few of my guns that I'd not shot yet. Both of my S&W Victory .22s shoot beautifully, with no issues.  Also shot my Glock 45 for the first time.  Ran 50 rounds though it flawlessly.  I can see why everyone likes this gun.

Should have kept the one I bought earlier this summer! LOL!

Found it. Bought it. Sold it to a friend without firing it. Big regrets now.

They are tough to find around here as well. A 19X popped up at Academy not too long ago and I grabbed it instead. It’s my favorite for sure.
