Gun Values

Recommended Posts

Hey Fellow TGOers,

I would appreciate your feedback and advice.  It's about time to open up the gun safe and sell some excellent firearms that are tired of sleeping.  I am not the brightest bulb in the pack in knowing how to value my firearms (to sell ONLY on TGO and our members).  Thank you in advance for books, websites, etc. where I may discern how to price my firearms before offering them for sale.

As always, thank you.  I wish the very best for all of you!

This won't be an accurate way of determining value but, Gunbroker is one way. Sometimes they seem a little high but, that's what the seller really wants. You could price yours similar to there's. At least as a start.

Gunbroker-20% would be a good place to start. I price what I sale for what I’d ideally like to get, then start discounting the price until someone bites. I put t back in the safe before I go below what I really want to sell it for.

If you use Gunbroker go to the advanced search and only search the closed auctions. That way you can see what guns actually sold for, not what people are asking.

I will add that you won’t likely get gunbroker prices selling locally. You also won’t have to fool with scammers, shipping, fees, ffls, etc.

If the firearms you're selling are modern guns it shouldn't be too difficult to find their selling price.

If they're antique or collectible firearms, it's a whole different world.

Rarity, condition, originality, caliber in many cases.
