Leaving for St Louis

I am going to st louis with some friends for a bachalor party. We are taking a bus where some will be drinking, which I will be one of those not drinking. My question is should I carry my gun and be fine or just pack it away/ leave it. This will be a trip till saturday. Plus we have to travel through the "Great" state of Illinois (yeah that was a little sarcasm, ok a lot of it) What do you all think?

Well, crap. Seems to me like you'd have to leave it. How else can you have the gun and the ammo in separate parts of the bus while going Through 'nois? They do not honor our permits, so it is like you don't have one. I do not know their laws, but I assume you'd have to have the gun and the ammo separated (ie. In totally different parts of the vehicle). What I would do is, bring the gun but no ammo until you get to St. Louis. Then buy a box of ammo and have it until you leave then figure out something to do with it like going to a range and shooting it up or something.

Are you from Nashville? Why would you be going through Ill? I go to St Louis all the time and never go to Ill.

Also if that bus is Greyhound you can't carry it anyway

I ended up just packing in my bag for now. We had a private bus. A friend owns a bus company and we took one of them. So no greyhound. I just had the magazine separate from the gun. But we are here now, and my friend is strapped back to my side. I do feel more comfortable now since St. Louis is the #4 city with the most crime.
