Just snagged this one off another forum I belong to. It's a 1989 S&W Mod. 29 w/ 3"Bbl. Can't wait to get it in.IMG_8508.thumb.JPG.bbaa9fa406b26c86fd7793c9bc7a87fb.JPGIMG_8513.thumb.JPG.ed4526b7d7900e6f85d907c9e8c98974.JPGIMG_8518.thumb.JPG.01a987290077c0506de606ec17d1c70c.JPGIMG_8521.thumb.JPG.ec1b179d2456e044d84fc31441565e1a.JPG

Very nice!  Love the unfluted cylinder.

BTW, the spec ord code indicates it left the factory June 28, 1990.

You don’t see that one every day. I like it. Who do you suppose made those grips? And reckon what they were made for. They don’t appear to fit that round butt frame very well.

Those Grips are classic compact grips from Eagle Grips, it also comes with the original Pachmayr Grips that it shipped with from the factory. He put the wood grips on to see if they would work. Does anyone know were I could find a set of Craig Spigel Grips for it. Thanks I'll post some more pics and info when it gets here, can't wait I've searched everywhere for one of these and every time I could find one it either sold or was out of my reach on price, but I got a good deal on it and I'm satisfied with what I gave for it.

Thanks, I believe I got a good deal on it since I've been looking for a 3" Bbl. 29. Gonna order some different wood grips for it once I find a set that I like.

I really like the wood, round butt Smith and Wesson Combat grips with finger grooves, but they are quite pricey these days when you find them.

Yeah I was searching and found a few but your right they are pricey, almost as much as the Ammo.

I bet you can feel the muzzle blast on that thing the next county over.

Perfect for reloading.  8 5 grains of Unique and anybodies hard cast 240 grain lead SWC in 44 mag brass or 7.5 grains unique with the same bullet.  About  900 fps.  No settin yourself on fire or developing arthritic wrists.  Trust me.  HEHEHE..  PS. Ya can cut the load .5 grains on either case n use 231 if ya like.

Those are nice, well hopefully mine will ship this week or next. Can't wait to get it. I've been looking for some grips where is a good place to find some, I did a search but didn't come up with to many. I checked out Rogers Grips and he has some nice ones on his site. I'll post some pics when it gets here.

Thanks. I dont have a good spot to point you to. Most of what I have i just lucked up and found in a classified or on E bay . They are rarely reasonably priced as they are getting more scarce.

I looked at their site, I don't care for the finger groove style. But thanks for replying, I've searched online but for some reason there aren't a whole lot of choices anymore.

that's beautiful indeed. I'm a sucker for unfluted cylinders. Saw a Redhawk 8 round .357 with a 3 inch barrel. tried but missed on it. First S&W 29 I've ever even heard of with non fluted cylinder.

Just picked it up at Goodlettsville Gun Shop, they are great to deal with on transfers.
