Relocating from the SSRC

Born and raised in the Central Valley, I've seen California transform from a paradise to a ####hole. The writing was on the wall over twenty years ago when I started to bug the Missus about getting out. She finally came around a couple of years ago and we decided to check out TN on the recommendation of the only friends we've got who hadn't already moved out. He's LE ready to git when his hitch is up in 2022; his Missus is already set up in Sumner County.

We got ourselves a place in neighboring Macon. I now say "I'm a Tennessean with property in CA."

Mrs. Dutch and I will be trickling over from hostile territory to our Tennessee home over the next 3 years. Really looking forward to making the move from the Soviet Socialist Republic of California to America permanent.

Let us know when you finally can say I live in Tennessee.

Please do not bring any Cali thinking with you.

Be safe and have fun!

Welcome. Becoming a Tennessean entails A bit more than a move. Settle in and you'll figure it out. And please don't enlighten us on how things were done elsewhere.

Welcome to the semi free. Macon Co is where I call home. I'll move back when I retire. Swing by and tell my brother in law to get his a$$ back here.

I'll only bring Constitutional thinking with me. You'd be surprised to see how deep red the Central Valley can be.

I wouldn't be. I'm in Cali pretty regularly and often in the Central Valley. I keep telling folks around here that it's just the handful of crazy cities that ruin the place for everyone.

Yes, Bakersfield was home not only to Merle Haggard, but the fiercely Republican current-U.S. House Minority leader, Kevin McCarthy! Yes, the Central Valley bleeds red. Many many times have I driven up from OC to Shasta and enjoyed the many Trump banners along the 5 and the proliferation of State of Jefferson (search engine search it) flags. Might have one myself 😉
