I recently purchased a S&W model 66, 4", .357 magnum revolver. I usually carry either a glock 30 IWB, or a snubbie IWB, but I considering carrying that bad boy, at least some. It would probably be used for a combination of concealed carry, and hunting. I haven't even begun to look, the whim just sort of struck me last night when I shot it, so any reccomendations are welcome, but I'd prefer not to get into anything ridiculously expensive, and I should probably mention I'm only about 5'5". Anyone have any suggestions on which direction I should look?

+1 on the Galco I got the Jacka$$ to carry two of my handguns and after you work it around a little it works great and you can buy other holsters for all of your guns and dont have to buy the whole strap deal over again just change out the holster.

Here's another vote for the Galco Miami Classic shoulder rig. They are fairly expensive but you should search here and on the S & W forum for a used one. They last forever, so there are some good used ones floating around.

Looks like they could have come up with a better name for a holster. I love Galco, I carry in one every day, but jackass???? Come on.

+ howevermany on the Jackass rig.

I had a friend who always carried his 1911 that way. He loaned me the rig to try out one day at the range, since I was always giving him a hard time about "A Jackass carrying a Jackass". I found it surprisingly comfortable, and easyto draw from. Re-holstering was a bit of a pain, but would probably get much easier with practice. Never bought one for myself, but now that I'm thinking about it again...:x:

They call it that because the original was made by the "Original Jackass Leather Company" which Galco bought out. The first ones were actually made of Jackass hyde. The Miami Classic model is a modification of the original first made for the character Sonny Crocket from the old Miami Vice TV show. Thus the name.

Galco site down (for me anyways).

I went with a mil type horizontal (vertical available also) shoulder rig that works great ($21.99). Fits anything and two ammo pouches on the opposite side. Not for concealed use, but great for the outdoors (durable), camping, hiking, etc.

From Self Defense Armory [link]. Or, search on "Mil-Holster"

Their Nannini Streetfighter Series Italian black leather goggles and the UH1 handgun holder caught my eye too. heh Great prices, such as $17.99 for a single point, single bungee sling.

Ok, first off, Jackass shoulder rig is a good rig, my dad and best friend both use them occasionally for 1911's, however, they are for semi autos, checked the site 3 times, they don't make them for revolvers. As for why I want one, I'm 5'5", and about 157lbs, a snubnose .38 iwb prints nicely, that K frame may as well be open carry!!! Plus, it will be mainly for hunting, and I just think I'd like that more. Thanks for all the input guys, I'll have to look into laying hands on a galco, and seeing how I like it.
