I've recently had some epiphanies about the government. I guess other people have understood this for a long time, but when you finally get it yourself, it hits you really hard. The government is its own beast. It exists to feed itself. The only people who actually like it are those who learn to ride the beast and can stay on it the longest. They're like bull-riders and we're not even the spectators. We're the dirt under the beast's hooves. And all our whining and picking sides doesn't matter one iota. The beast will grow to keep itself alive. Those who run for president get it better than any of us. So, I guess, good job to them, eh?

The epiphany was better than that paragraph. I assure you. It's always hard to put epiphanies into words.
