Long Range

Recommended Posts

So, I recently picked up one of Sig's new Cross rifles, shortly before the recall which mine has gone to them and come back already.  I'm fairly new to the long range game (anything past 500m), but was wondering how everyone built up knowledge.  Was it all from learning from others or was there source material out there that you guys used?  I'm sure I'm over-simplifying but I'm just ready to learn.

Thanks!

If you can make it to 500 then 600+ is not that much different.

If you shoot with people that shoot to 1000+ I am sure they will have you set in no time.

What caliber is the Sig?

Do you reload?

You could do as I did and join the Marine Corps. 😺 But Mike's right, if you can hit consistently at 500 meters then it's just a matter of increment.

If you subscribe to the Warrior Poet Society Network, Ryan Cleckner has a pretty good long range course on there you can watch. Cleckner also has a pretty good book on long range shooting.
