Fly or ship guns?

I'm going to be going on a hunting trip soon and we are flying. Do you guys fly with your guns or ship them to yourself? The ammo will have to be shipped due to the amount. Some of us will be using machineguns. It'll be the first time for me flying with NFA.

If you're shipping the ammo, I'd consider including the guns as ones not much good without the other. Need to contact the shipper and confirm they'll do it.

I don't think the airlines care that its an NFA item, review their policy to confirm.

When I was competing, there was a limit on the amount of ammo one person could take on an airplane. It was something like 200 rounds of 308, but it was by the lb. They'll take around 500 rounds of 5.56. I'll have 300 rounds of 308, but I'll check the new regulations.

I always fly with my firearms.  Unfortunately, American Airline’s limit is 11 pounds stored in either the original container or one specifically made for the ammunition.  Check your airline’s policy.  As for NFA items, that would definitely be worth a phone call to the NRA.
