I traded for one of these and was pleasantly surprised how well it shoots. 😁 My only issue is I didn't realize how much the recoil would be on my newly diagnosed arthritis. Anyone else shoot a 45 with arthritis that can offer suggestions?

You might try some of the lighter 200 gr LSWC target loads. However, you may need to change to a lighter recoil spring for reliable functioning.

Change to a bit heavier recoil spring for 230 gr. Ball, if you can handle the harder racking slide.

This is my next purchase! The ones I’ve handled seem to be great pistols! Especially for the money!

This is one of the best shooting guns I own. I was surprised for sure. So, heavier recoil spring or lighter loads the solution?

That would be my recommendations.

I wondered about the Tisas 1911 guns. Some GI models don't shoot the best because of the loose tolerances sometimes. Glad to know this one is good.

If you can find any, 185 grain loads are great in the 1911s. Especially in the shorter barrels. I got some years ago for a Colt Officers just to try out, found I really like them.

There is a discernable difference in recoil with them.

Just saw this thread and not sure if it is still a problem, but a good shooting glove will help you.

A possible help might be some rubber wrap-around grips? I think Hogue used to make those?

Another option is get a 9mm 1911 where the recoil is a good bit less.

Shot my SDS U.S. Army model 1911. To be honest, my Walther PPK/s wears my hand out more than that big ole 1911a1.  The Walther is not a fun range gun. I see some rubber wrap-around grips in my future for that one.
