I dont blame you for not wanting tupperware. I just got rid of an XD45 compact, not that there was anything wrong with it other than I didnt like it. First tupperware gun after having 1911's for years. If you go tupperware look at the Smith M&P. Thats what I wanted but Smith hadn't released the compact yet when I bought the XD. Feels a whole lot better than the XD IMO. I am back to all steel for the time being.

I picked an old reliable witness compact 45 steel. That thing is awesome IMO. Fits my hand like a glove. Should have never gotten rid of it years ago, but thankfully got it back. The plastic EAA feels awful btw.

Another good tupperware gun especially for the money is the Ruger SR9. It was on the cover of Guns & Ammo January 2008 and Patrick Sweeney did the review on it. I was extremely impressed with what Ruger has made for a so called "tupperware gun" If you can find that issue of Guns & Ammo, check out that article. It will make you want one really bad.

Scratched my itch found a s&w cs45 picked up today. Looking forward to trying it out. like the decocker and da/sa even if the trigger pull is a little tough.

I was very curious about them. Make sure you post some good pics and range results. What do you think about the grip. Somebody told me it felt like a turd, but I don't handle turds so I don't know what that feels like.

Grip doesn't feel bad to me at all but again I like compacts (can't compare to turd ether) I use two on grip pinky underneath. Pictures may be slow coming because wife has to do for me.aannndd we've not told her yet that I've bought another gun. I saw where you can get some slimgrips made by some guy called big dog delrin or something like that. but I like them fine but again I like my sig and bersa grips also

However, it really sucks at being a .45.

I just went through the “Compact” thing. Most modern pistols are not very “Compact” they are just full size guns with the barrel and grips shortened. With the exception of the Kahr, they were all thicker than a 1911; and I just didn’t like the feel of the Kahr.

I ended up with a 3” Kimber SIS Ultra. I have heard all the horror stories of the short barreled 1911’s; but thought I would give it a try.

Of course if you need 15 rounds you will need a fat gun. :P

+1 for the Kimber, I have the Ultra Crimson Carry II and love it, very easy to carry with an IWB holster.

But good luck with the S&W...

Check out STIguns.com, they have a really cool model. I am partial to the Colt Defender myself. BJ

How's this working out? It's oh so tempting to go pick somthing up without notifying the "boss", but I haven't had the guts to do it yet. Here's wishing you the best! :P

She's really a good sport about it. It's more that I'm ashamed of spending the money. She does better than me any way, She brought home a S&W 629 6" barrell a couple of years a go she paid $200 for it. all legal not hot I've been on buying spree lately need to reel myself in. I'll try to man up and get some pictures this weekend.

PT 145 is the way to go.. I have one with over 15,000 rounds and still going...

I bought one for my wife. I have to say I wasn't expecting much but so far I am really pleased with this pistol. Accurate, reliable, good price.

Yep, it's plastic, but, I've shot the XD 45 service, really sweet.

The 45 compact is only different as to smaller grip/capacity, but 10+1 plus a 13 round backup is nothing to sneeze at in a rock solid performer!

In .45, I have owned a Colt Combat Commander and a Norinco 1911 Gov't Model. Now I carry a Glock 30 and I like it very much. I didn't dislike the others but I like the G30 better.
