Tax stamp question

Is it sufficient to have a photo of my stamps on my phone instead of carrying physical copies on each outing? Thanks for any assistance.

I know a lot of people that do that and have never had an issue, they also keep a copy of their trust downloaded on their phone too.

You do not need to carry the original and I would advise against it.   You should keep a copy, physical or digital, with you when you have your NFA item in case it is requested by an ATF agent.   How often do you encounter an agent?   Rarely, but better safe than sorry.

I do a lot of traveling with NFA and I always carry a copy of my stamps. I've never been asked for them in the last 20 years, but I will continue to carry them.

The dealer where I got all of mine offers a "wallet size" version that is laminated, so I carry that in my wallet, but have never been asked to show it by anyone.

Yes. And you are not required by law to show a stamp at a gun range. The operator may kick you out, but that's their business decision just like no shirt, no shoes, no service. I have no idea where that narrative got started but RSOs aren't the ATF.
