First-generation Savage 110L barreled action with Lyman scope

Here's a little bit of firearms history, especially significant for left-hand shooters.

The Savage 110L, introduced in 1959, was the first commercial left-hand bolt action sold in the United States.  That first year it was offered only in .30-06 and .270 Winchester.  This one is a genuine 1959 model in .30-06, serial number 20xxx.

This is a barreled action, and action screws, mounted with a Lyman All-American 3x scope with the excellent post reticle.  I have been hoping to find a vintage 1959 stock to restore this to its original condition, but one hasn't come up lately, so I've decided not to follow through with the idea.  For a left-hand shooter who knows a source for an original stock, or who is happy with installing an aftermarket stock, this would be a great easy-to-complete project.

Bore is excellent with no rust or pitting.  Scope is also in excellent condition with no apparent optical defects.  There are a couple of small scratches on the scope exterior.

I've hunted with this gun's exact twin (except in .270 and with a stock) since my first deer hunt in 1967.  I'd hoped to restore this one but there are too many other gun projects and not enough time for all of them.

SOLD

Thanks for looking,

Whisper

Update:  I've been asked if I have a follower and spring to fit this, and I am pretty sure I do somewhere, but I am not currently able to find it.  I will keep looking, but if I don't find it, Numrich has them for $13.30.

As of 8:58 p.m. Central, I have a few "I'm interested" and "Maybe" and "Let me think about it" responses, but no definitive "I'll take it."

One "I'll take it" trumps a fistful of "Maybes."  🙂

Thanks for looking,
