This shortage is caused by people that won't stop panic buying. We are our own worst enemy sometimes. The odd thing is that if anything is in jeopardy it's guns and magazines which are actually in stock most places. It's just like the time after Sandy Hook when everyone mysteriously insisted on buying .22LR.

This! I've said it almost word for word before. If people would stop waiting in line to buy it and then resale it this problem would be solved. My Academy has close to 100 people waiting every day for ammo.

Have you bought a tank of gas lately? There will probably be people scalping it once they figure out the storage issues.

Yep, based on 1 of 2 things. Desperate or dumb.

3.4 million background checks ran in February. Not sure "hoarding" is the complete answer here.

I'll give you that there are people buying for resale, and that some people are buying for their "needs/desires." Even we here. We stockpile. We prepare for any eventuality(hopefully anyway). We "Prep" for disaster

But as I've said before. Millions more buyers in the last 2 years. That absolutely effects the amount of ammo available to the masses.

Yeah. Disgusting. Up almost 70 cents per gallon in the last 6 weeks. At least around me.

Since Publix opened in East Nashville. I don't get those gas points from my Kroger shopping anymore. And that hurts!

People panic whenever things get a little uneasy in their lives.  When the terrorists attacks happened on 9-11, I saw a guy fill up his truck and had a 55 gallon drum in the back. He filled it up too.

Hmm. I wonder why people would be panic buying.

Perhaps the Harris-Biden government?

Our low price?

Yea that's the low low price before you have to get a small business loan to buy some!! This time next year that could be $249.89 per round. Sad thing is I think some people might pay it. I have seen some crazy priced stuff on GB sell. Right now they have 1k Federal Gold Medal Match small pistol primers with 6 hours left for $330.00 plus $35.00 shipping. They must be made of gold to fetch that kind of price. Update the primers sold for $355+ shipping. That fellow was needing some primers pretty bad.

I stopped in at my LGS this afternoon and paid on my Layaway and I fella was buying a new .357 single action and he bought a box of .38 wadcutters.   I think this is also a part of the shortage.  You got to figure that a new purchase is getting a box of shells too, if they can get them.
