Gamaliel Shooting Supply merged with Brownell's

I’m glad for the ownership at Gamaliel’s if this is something they were seeking. But it’s a net loss as far as I’m concerned.

Just a recent look at all the manufacturers that still haven’t come back online after the Remington bankruptcy should give anyone pause.

 News indeed. Money issues maybe?

I dunno. Garron was financially secure as far as I know, but his boy took it over years ago, and I’ve no idea about him. I bet there was an offer they just couldn’t refuse. They make their own line of shotgun wads there, and better than 90% of their business was mail order.  Wouldn’t be surprised if Brownelll’s saw them as either am obstacle or am opportunity.

It sure seems that the outdoor industry is quickly becoming consolidated. I’m not sure that bodes well for us.

I think consolidation is the key word. JMO

Brownells bought Gamaliel several years ago, I believe 4 or 5 years ago. The first couple of years they let Gamaliel run it as they where, including a catalog and online sales. Then Brownells shut down the catalog and online sales, and the amount of inventory in the showroom was reduced.

Between Gamaliel and The Reloaders Bench they are where I have bought my powder and primers for the last 25 years.

Hey David, I may let you come check out my reloading component supplies, but let me warn you, I do have some, but the prices are out of this world. As in a new decked out bass boat will get you some powder and some primers!!
