Possible transplant from California

Hi, we are possibly moving out to the Nashville area. Out of curiosity I started checking out the gun-range situation online and it seems like most things are indoor?

I mostly shoot 50-100 yard rifle and was wondering if someone can let me know if there are any good outdoor shooting ranges that go out to 100 yards in the area.

Seems like there should be and I am probably just not finding them online.

I’ve shot at Stones River when I’ve visited Nashville. It’s a true public range operated by the TWRA. I like it. 

Here is a list of all the public ranges operated by the state. Others would have to help you with the private ranges around Nashville.

To a Californian it is REALLY strange to see gun ranges operated by the state.

I bet. Especially in the Bay Area I would imagine it’s a really, really foreign concept.

OK well, hopefully this all comes to pass.... gonna try to hang onto the Bay Area property as a rental and buy in Nashville but we are not rich so it's gonna be a challenge.

I wish you luck. From what my Uncle and Brother in law have said, you should be able to pay two Nashville house payments for Bay Area rent.

Welcome to TGO. Think hard about being an absentee landlord from 2000 miles away. Plus the real estate taxes out there and the capital gains tax you will have to pay when you do sell if you don't take advantage of the breaks for just selling and buying a different primary residence. Might want to take advantage of the sellers bubble now since you will be buying into the bubble. 

You will love living in a free state.
