Anybody here ever used Green Mountain barrels?

I was wondering about them. They have some really cheap barrels. I hate the word cheap, it sometimes means junk. I been looking at .357 barrels.

Green Mountain made their name known first in muzzle loading barrel blanks of all sorts and sizes. Alot of competition BP shooters used them. They were inexpensive yet would shoot with any of the more expensive barrels. Then they started making octagon barrels for cartridge cals and the quality was not lost in the transition. I still have a tapered octagon .429 groove barrel waiting for a Marlin 1894 receiver to drop in my lap some day. The quality of it is as good as any eye can tell. They are all air gauged to standard industry specs. For the money, you can't go wrong.

They are also very popular with 22 rimfire shooters. They more or less owned the 10/22 barrel market for a long time.

The company I work for uses Green Mountain Blanks for a number of products. They are not on the same level as our Proof or Krieger barrel blanks but they are solid. I would not put one on a gun I wanted to shoot sub MOA at 1000 yards but If I was building a <150 yard bursh gun or short range hunting gun I would not hesitate to use them.

A buddy of mine had his AR re-barreled with one last year and it is very accurate according to my pal, He would do all his AR's but alas is limited by the money tree.....

I got it already built, so can't claim any bragging rights on it. I have a 10/22 that dolomitesuprafly built some years ago. Much fitting and polishing of the Volquartsen trigger group and a Green Mountain  heavy barrel.

VERY accurate for as far as I shoot. Far better rifle than I deserve. But I love it. Best ever for me was 3 rounds in a dime sized group at 50 yards. The rifle is capable of much better, I am not.

Century used Green Mountain barrels for there VZ 2008 rifle builds.  I know CIA has put out some dogs in there time but for the most part these had good reviews. Mine is very accurate.
