Interesting that some of the very people who do everything in their power to deprive law abiding citizens of their second amendment rights in the state of Tennessee..... do not want to give up their right to self protection.

Other than Naifeh who has done more than his share recently to stop pro gun bills from going through, I don't know if any of the permit holders in the State Legislature have worked against our cause. I wish every last one of our Representatives and Senators had permits. I think things would be a lot better for us all if they did.

According to "Project Vote Smart", Tenn. Senator Thelma Harper voted against both SB 23 and SB 2143. She is listed in the article as a permit holder. Note that the on-line article does not show a listing of all the 34 permit holders (22 Rep and 12 Dem) shown in the "paper" version.

Considering Naifeh's hard push for a state income tax and all the visible protesting at the capitol building..... I'm sure he felt a bit uncomfortable in the past.... I don't buy his excuse for getting a permit. I paraphrase here, but he stated that he got a permit to let people know that he wasn't against the 2nd ammendment....... just carrying in places that served alcohol.....

You say you want to fix the public school system, then make it mandatory for ALL politicians to send their children to the worse school in their district. You will then see public education get much better real real soon.
