That looks great!. I have one that's not nearly that nice.

They are wonderful little pistols. I guess that since it was Grandpa's that you'll never sell it?

Wow, that does look good. Doesn’t look like he did much if any buffing that would have rounded the edges.  Do you know what method he used to blue it?

I really don't. I know he stripped it and blued it and then did it again because it got a nick in the bluing dip pan.

Hes out of Kempner, TX at Texas Star Shooting Range if interested .

Looks like he did a good job on refinishing that old Colt. Enjoy it and shoot it every now and then.

Hate to bust your bubble.  An unfinished or original pistol like yours is worth more than the very nice looking pistol you have now.  I have run a refinishing shop for many years and tell the customer it’s worth more if I don’t touch it on some firearms.  I know you don’t plan on selling it, so it’s a mute question.  Enjoy.

I have a Browning Baby .25 and an Iver Johnson single 12 gauge and both will be refinished. in 20 years a refinished piece will be worth more than an un-useable rusty paperweight.

It looks beautiful, the way it should. let the barn finders keep their high priced junk and enjoy!
