there is no IF obama will put another gun ban into effect....it will be bad. much worse than the clinton gun ban. clinton had to fight to get that one in with a republican congress. this time all democrat control. it is not a matter of if, it is amatter of when and how bad.

oh and i forgot the question. the prices will go way up. if we can keep them and or sell them. prices did come down with bush, because he let the clinton ban expire and we could have no no features again. i think the new ban will ban all outright building of ak and ars and the like. so no post ban versions. so what is built or in the country is it. limited numbers means higher prices.

The rule of supply and demand in a fair market economy. Limited supply, apparently an unlmited demand. Of course, Obama will be eliminating the fair market shortly, so we can all be equal and the EBR's a thing of the past. No reason to stock up, that just means more for them to have to haul away... :koolaid:

You mean you are going to let them haul them away?

Not I brother!

Not to toot my own horn. But I seen this coming. I started buying anything I could for the last year and a half. I figured the country would swing left. Never would have thought the value of my house would have gone down about 30,000 and my guns have doubled or tripled. I also have about 6,000 rounds of 7.62x39. those will be worth about a dollar or two a bullet soon. But let's hope not. Anyway it gives me an excuse to buy all the guns I want. The wife sees them as an investment. Ha Ha

For military (Active Duty and retirees): The Post Exchange (PX) on Fort Campbell, Kentucky has a gun shop, as of mid January. They have a decent selection of handguns, some rifles and shotguns. They never really know what weapons they'll be getting in ... On occassion you can get lucky.

Problem is that the PX is on the Kentucky side of the state line, and they only sell handguns to ACtive Duty military, with orders assigning them to Fort Campbell, or retirees with Kentucky residency. We Tennessee retirees are out of luck. Rifles are no problem, however.

Early February I went in and asked about buying an M4 carbine (I had seen them in before and they always got snapped up immediately). The guy at the counter said that they were expecting a DPMS in, and that he'd hold it for me (I had to leave town for a few days).

When I went to the PX to buy it, it wasn't the M4 carbine, but the longer M16A2 style rifle. I still liked it, but said that I'd really hoped for a collapsible-stock carbine. He went into the back and brought out a beautiful Sig Sauer 556. Pricey, but really nice. I called my wife and asked her if I could get both ... and she said YES!

Paid $760 for the DPMS, and $1560 for Sig 556 ... Saved a bunch of money on the taxes.

A couple weeks later I saw a DPMS M4-style carbine on the rack ... $750. Again, I called 'the boss' and she was cool about me getting it! Again, saved a bunch of $$ on tax.

If you're military (or retired military) and in the Clarksville, TN area, check out the Fort Campbell PX ... No guarantees, as assault rifles are snapped up quickly, but you might get lucky.
