You can at least double the already doubled prices, IMHO......maybe even more

Very much high. High enough I spent 2/3's of my paycheck on a galil yesterday, because I figured it was my last chance.

I do not see the Heller decision as grounds to strike down a new gun ban, at least one that's similar to the old ban. I could see it being challenged, but I think the High Court would say, "We're not ready to expand Heller that far." Plus there's the issue of incorporation, meaning that the ruling still does not apply beyond the District of Columbia. I'm sure it will apply to all the states eventually, but it will take years and require other litigants and cases.

I see what's happening with gun prices as like the reverse of what's happening with homes. In the housing market, the prices keep going down because everyone is waiting for, well, the prices to keep going down. The more people wait, the more prices drop. With guns it certainly seems to be the exact opposite.

The prices of 'assault weapons' under a ban is assuming they enact a ban like the old one. Maybe I've got the :D a little tight, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was something in a ban that prohibited the transfer of then banned items.

well just from cruising the gun show today...and checking the company web site...a certain M1A I'm interested in has gone up over $200 in the last month. Ban or no ban...that sucks picked eggs

I was hoping there was a chance they would go down in price with the economy and all but the more I wait the higher prices get

The rule of supply and demand in a fair market economy. Limited supply, apparently an unlmited demand. Of course, Obama will be eliminating the fair market shortly, so we can all be equal and the EBR's a thing of the past. No reason to stock up, that just means more for them to have to haul away... :woohoo:

Saw a bare-bones CAR configuration DPMS (complete firearm) at a gunshow today for $1050.

Supply and demand is naturally going to drive the prices up to whatever the market can support. Hold on for the ride.

As long as people continue to pay higher and higher prices for "assault weapons" then they will continue to go up in price. They will go as high as the market will allow. But there will be a point where the normal consumer simply cannot afford to buy any more and thats where they will top out. I go by some advice given to me a long time ago, buy what you can afford because you want it. Dont buy on speculation that you will turn a profit, and dont give in to the panic buying craze because it usually dosent turn out very well for the consumer.

I don't recall much from the first ban. EBR's weren't my thing back them. I do know the price of hicap mags went through the roof when they were banned.

We are our own worst enemy….. Obama has done nothing.... and the gun haters have to be having a good laugh. :)

There was a buying frenzy when O was elected and stuff was supposedly hard to get. That will level out, and prices will drop back to where they were.

This man has a crisis on his hands and I don’t think he is going to take his eye off the ball to get into a losing battle of disarming citizens.

Look at the for sale sections right now. There is no shortage of gun owners that are trying to make a killing off this.

Well said!

Don't believe the hype from the :) crowd.

Buy smart, and don't overspend.

If you think the price is too high, walk away.

Yea! Like I just did when someone offered to sell me his Marine Magnum for $800. :screwy:

I want one pretty bad, but I'm not gonna let myself pay these crazy prices. I did the same thing with the P220 I just bought. I could have easily spent $200+ more to have one right away, but I waited for the kind of deal I knew was out there.

I've enjoyed some of the increased demand. It has definitely helped stretch my budget.

Being out of work right now sucks but by buying and selling I've made quite a bit of money lately to help out with the bills and afford a couple other toys.

Does any one know if this is a reasonable price for a Russian American Armory Saiga 7.62 x 39 Sporter Rifle With 16.3" Barrel.$439.95? I found this on GilbertsGuns.com.

I was thinking of buying one just because it looks like someone in the future is going to tell me I can't.

Yeah thats not a bad price for one right now. Although I bought one a year ago for $200 less than that. :D

Beats the $689 one I saw at the Smyrna show this weekend. FWIW, I paid $280 mid-last year.

I'm not a fan, (of any 7.62 x 39) but a quick check at Buds shows them for $309.

That's their old price...they haven't had them in stock for a long time.

Looks like I should have seen the writing on the wall last year. Guess my Crystal Ball needs an update. Then again what will prices be next year?
