LawVol,

I saw the 22LR ammo selling out and last month bought a half a case of Eley Tenex for precision shooting.  KSS (Killough Shooting Sports), which is owned by Eley is the US distributor, normally has tens of thousands of rounds so that you can do lot testing and buy cases of the lot that works best in your rifle.  As of right now, they don't show any Tenex in stock at the TX warehouse.

If anyone is really interested in knowing, Zanders is the national Importer for all Eley ammo.  All merchants except Killoughs purchase their ammo through Zanders.  Zanders recently sold out of all ammo they had.  One vendor bought approx 300 cases of Tenex.

Killoughs is the only vendor that also get's their own lots and inventory of Eley as they run the test center so those lots are not available to anyone else.  They also cater to the competition rimfire community so they are a bit of an exception to the other vendors.  If you check inventories on their website it will say St.Louis/Missouri Warehouse or Texas Warehouse.  St. Louis means it is a Zanders lot.  Texas means it is a Killough's lot.

3 years ago before my wife retired she would wake me up on payday so we could head to walmart. Payday was Monday morning every 2 weeks, she worked the 6 pm to 2 am shift. Her off days were Monday and Tuesday. We each grabbed a cart and headed our separate ways then meet up to finish our shopping. Margie would be filling the ammo case most of the time when I got to sporting goods. I would call my wife to get over here. We had a good 30 minute to an hour chat with Margie. Figure what was the best deal on 22's and get our 3 limits.

One night we got to talking about crappie fishing. She would love a mess of crappie, her husband wasn't able to get out. She said pick out whatever you wish in the fishing section and bring it to the counter. Depending on brands she reduced the price to 10 to 50%. 10 jigheads for quarter, I can't buy jig hooks at that price to cast my own. 4 shopping bags full for $28. I got her address and delivered a few meals until her husband pasted.
