New member just signed up minutes ago. Happy to be in Tennessee, love this state and can't say anything bad about it.

Welcome aboard 11B!

I'll add my recommendation to ORSA.

Point Blank in West Knoxville is GTG as well and not too far off of Pellissippi. They offer a Vet discount as well.

I went to ShootPB once when they just opened and were advertising a 'huge ammo sale'  (ya know, back in the day when you could get it? 😄😄).... had to present and allow them to scan my license.

I inquired, as I understand an age-check but objected to them scanning, and the manager told me some nonsense about CA documentation requirements?

Last time I shopped there.

Have had good experiences at Frontier Firearms... partly b/c it was on my way to the range! LOL!!

That's just weird Kev, ( ETA: meaning the CA doc requirements)

I purchased a box of .32 S&W ling there 2 weeks ago and all they wanted was my money...

They do scan my license when I shoot...but my very discounted membership is attached to that.

Every place has their idiosyncrasies, but I don't feel particularly put out by it.

ORSA (of which I've been a member of since '06) just keeps adding on restrictions and requirements.  But I'm still a member.

It may get worse before it gets better... 😉

Yeah, I was dumbstruck at first. Almost walked out, thats when the Mgr. came over. I reminded them that we were in Tennessee, where there aren't such requirements! Sadly, it was comply, or don't buy. Shrug. As with the current situation, I'm a big fan of voting with my pocket book.

I dropped ORSA about 2 years ago when we finished building. Great club, but I just wasn't using it, and wanted to start building my own range at home anyways.

.... still only about 75 yards, but hey, I don't have any spare ammo right now anyways!🤣
