I have been wanting a .308 for a while, I had a very sweet deal on an Ed Brown Marine sniper rifle, but I decided that I wanted an AR style, so I ordered one of these http://www.lwrifles.com/Products/SABR/tabid/85/Default.aspx I was going to wait for the FHN Scar or Magpul Massada, but my dealer was able to order me the LWRC SABR with an 18 inch barrel and in Black, it was ordered today and I should have it in June, a friend of mine offshore just gave me 10, Black 20 round .308 Magpul magazines, they are not released yet, he was sent a case of them to evaluate for his website (lets just say that he has some serious industry connections) http://www.longrangeresearchinstitute.com/

He also talked me into this rifle saying it is the best .308 on the market, this guy knows his stuff so I took the expensive plunge, I just pray that I am able to get the gun before some sort of ban makes it impossible,:tough:

The SABR is a great rifle.

I ordered about 25 of them at SHOT, so I am looking forward to seeing them in the store.

I plan on replacing my 10" full auto DSA OSW Fal with a 12" SABR when it arrives

You'll likely have a scar on your butt after you get done paying for it!:stare:

You are looking at least 3k, very expensive but they are some of the finest rifles built by man :D

Joe,

After I get mine, will it be possible for me to obtain the stamp and put the 12" upper on it?

Yeah, it can be rebarreled.

If you want the SBR, you should just contact the dealer you ordered it through, and have him change the order.

yes but unfortunately my dealer is not a Class 3, and I needed his layaway to afford it, so I will stick with the 18 inch, my rifle expert friend tells me that that is the ideal barrel length for this design, I am sure I will be happy with it :woohoo:

Yep. 18" is a good way to go.
