The model 40 Savage I am familiar with is a centerfire rifle. You may want to verify the model number.

Ebay is a splendid place to find items such as this.

Hey Greg. It is indeed a rim fire 22. I found several for center fire and other calibers   One on eBay for a 30-06 for $100. 🧐

Are you a member of 24hourcampfire.com? It has a Savage Collector’s subforum. I’d be amazed if there isn’t someone there who’d have what you need, or at least tell you where you could find one.

I have a 4C my granddad gave me for Christmas when I was 6 weeks old. Parts and mags are usually fairly east to get. I think I bought from Numrich last time or may have been ebay.

I am back home now but I will have them send pictures of the writing. Very possibly it’s a 4C. Since finding a model 40 magazine is impossible
