Unfortunately most members of the House and Senate today seem to think that Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military should be given a raise and told how wonderful they are...

Where are the Washington's, Jefferson's, Payne's, etc...?

I have heard it said that today no respectable person would ever want to run for office.
