Thanks to DrAlarms! nice little carry revolver for myself... maybe for my wife if she wants it.

have yet to fire it... it has a nice feel to it. not too heavy... but heavier than a S&W snubbie etc. will be interested to see how it handles the different calibres.

does anyone else use this as their everyday CCW? if so, what loads do you use? where do you carry it?

and here is a pic.. cos i know people wanna see the gun porn!

I use Hornady JHP's in my .38Spl. +P SP101 for EDC and I love it. It's a bit heavier, but so much more durable in my book. I really have no complaints with mine, other than the fact that Dad want's it back.

- I carried mine for a while, but finally admitted to myself I felt more comfy with more immediate rounds available.

- Have Golden Saber .357 in mine - if I'd wanted to carry .38 I would have bought a .38.

- Use Bullard IWB, same holster type as for my XD:

I just noticed your's was hammerless...didn't know they made those like that. My Dad bought mine new back in the early 1990's.

Congrats.

I've thought about getting one and sending it off to Gemini Customs. Unfortunately, my numbers 1 and 2 on the wish list take priority.

Enjoy!

what do gemini customs do to it?

True, but you're still without the bada$$ SP101.:D

You think a perp will be more impressed with a Gemini job as he looks down the business end? ;)

If that was the issue, we'd all be carrying Hi-Points.:D

I didn't mean anything was wrong with the stock SP101 (well, except those horrid grips), but I sure do like what Gemini does with them.

Well, that makes one of us. I want something smaller than a breadbox that will actually fire at least every other time. ;)

I guess you're speaking aesthetics. It's really a super grip for the recoil, and absolutely none of the popular alternatives conceal as well.

The little wood inserts I added to mine make it purty enough for moi.

I am absolutely in love with mine. Easiest to carry EDC I've ever had. Damn accurate too.

Great choice kingtone! Congrats. Mine's just the same as astra900's pic. I carry Gold Dot 125's in mine and carry it in a Don Hume JIT holster. Conceals very well. Never been worried about the capacity issue since I know I can put em where I mean for em to go. Problem is I'm afraid I'm gonna get arrested cause I can't quit fondling it, the 101 that is. :D

What's that ammo there Astra? Can't make it out.

kingtone, have one just like it. amazingly accurate once you quit flinching. smooth trigger.

it is heavy then some revolvers to carry but it is worth it.

You can actually buy a replacement hammer without the thumb grip. Had I known that, I never would have gotten rid of the 9mm version I had 8 years ago.

mine is the one in the first pic.. doesnt have the thumb grip.. slips easy in and out of my pocket.

Am going to get an OWB or IWB holster for it.. problem is though, i wear 'skinny' black jeans all the time.. so fitting IWB might be out of the question...

That was the first revolver I ever bought. Bought it when I was in college. Put some Hogue grips on it and carried it loaded with 125gr .357. Very accurate and "well built".

I carry my 2" SP101 in a Crossbreed Supertuck about 80% of the time. The ammo is handload (Yeah, I know... my choice though) 158grn Winchester SJHP at 1080 fps. The other carry gun is a Kimber full size .45, depending on my mood & clothing. The revolver in the ST holster is easier to conceal & can be tucked.
