Ford 2021 Bronco, Who's Getting One?

Yeah, that's basically it. The new Bronco = Bronco and the new Bronco Sport = Bronco II....but fuglier. Like Erik88, I also thought the Sport looked a lot like a gen 2 Escape, especially from the side. The rocker panel trim looks almost identical to it.

The bronco sport shares its platform with the escape.  The Bronco Sport is supposed to be a more rugged alternative for someone looking for a CUV in that size range.   I bought an Escape for my mother in 2013.   Today, its closing in on 120,000 miles and has been a trouble free reliable little car for her.   When it comes time to replace, I'd get the Bronco Sport before I'd get the new Escape.

All of that being said, I'd rather have a Bronco for myself.

I'm still rocking my '06 Mazda Tribute (aka Ford Escape gen 1 with better brakes and suspension) with over 200K miles on it. The Ford Duratec V6 keeps on chugging along.

Well I feel better now. I really like how the new Bronco looks in all the photos. Then I saw what I thought was a new Bronco and thought it looked like @ss.

If that was a Bronco Sport, then there is still hope. It reminded me of a Bronco II.

When I met my future wife, she had a red Bronco II and a pair of red Wranglers that both fit her quite well 😉

The Bronco II went 220,000 miles without too much problem (except transmission rebuildS). Much like my Forester, the short wheel base made it a very nimble and capable off-roader.  We ended up selling  it to someone who wanted to set it up for hard-core 4 wheeling.

I will certainly give the new Broncos a look when the time comes.
