I remember back in the day it was legal to order them through the mail. If I’m not mistaken there was no restrictions at all. I’m guessing that has all changed now?

Black powder pistols are not legally considered firearms, require no 4473 and therefore can be shipped directly to your home.

They can be shipped to your home by any carrier, including the USPS.

As I understand it, most places are sold out because of the Covid virus in Italy is causing real problems with manufacturing and shipping. This is where most of them are made now days.

Dixie Gun Works still has a fair selection.

You can still find a conversion cylinder that will allow you to shoot regular ammo in one. Just need to look around on line and see what brand the conversion cylinder kit fits and you can have both precusion and metallic cartridge in one gun.
