Guy I know has this:

5.56 AR pistol built on a new Anderson lower with a new LPK and Magpul triggerguard. New 7.5" BCA 5.56 upper with excellent used KAK micro flash can. Excellent used knurled and fluted PSA pistol buffer tube. New BCG & charging handle.  No brace.

He wants $500. Unfortunately it's out of state so it'd have to be shipped, he'd pay shipping I'd pay transfer here.

I don’t know; I would think you could find something like that here. They were all over the place prior to CRB.

My question to the experts here would be; aren’t you required to know that lower has never been a rifle?

Dunno what was once available, but this is one that currently IS. Don't need it, but if the price is as good as it seems on the surface, kinda hard to leave behind.

As to the "pistol first" issue, never occurred to me. The second part of that question seems to me to be: "Does it matter what it was before, if it's a pistol when *I* buy it?"

5 pieces of paper that say $100 or an AR pistol.

Slam Dunk on the AR. JMHO.

Yes, it matters, whatever it was born as is what matters, if initially a rifle then it would be illegal to have it as a pistol, unless an SBR.  Since it's an Anderson, it was probably sold as stripped lower, which means it could go either way, but if there is a record out there, like a forum post, as a rifle prior to it being converted to a pistol, then you would have an issue.

It says "new Anderson lower".  I'd take that deal all day long.

ATF paranoia...I say Shall not be infringed!!  Buy it!...then sell to me, lol.

I will follow these crazy laws as much as possible, and won't knowingly break them when I have other options.  If you really need one, then sure go for it, but I'm fine in the AR department, and enough lowers to make a few more if needed.

Seller stated (via pm) that it was initially a stripped lower transferred as an "other" so I'm good to go there.

I have lowers to build and assorted parts and a 10.5" upper but this one is kinda hard to pass up. I'll probably sell a PSA rifle I already own just to keep things from tripping over themselves.

Well, if you had this gun, would you sell it to me for $500?

Probably not. Looking at it for a truck gun. Have a 10.5" in 5.56 and another in 300blackout. Rather have the 7.5" for the truck.

Now, if I was buying it to sell... I guess if I'm a capitalist republican I'd have to sell it for at least $1000, if I was a socialist democrat I'd "sell it back" for a $100 food city gift card.

If you wouldn’t sell it for the purchase price, you’re probably going to want to buy it.

I'd get it at that price.

Sent dude a message that I'll take it. He wants a check, so it'll be a couple of weeks before it's here.

Out of curiosity,Wherever it is that you are making contact with this person, do they have a track record of verified good transactions?

i’ll be honest. My Spidey senses tingling about it based upon the information that you have given here.

I appreciate the concern. The guy I'm buying from is someone I've dealt with in the past on a forum I am still a member of in New England. His positive feedback score is 68; based on my personal history that's probably 1/3 of the number of deals he's actually made. He will actually have been a member there for 14 years in 3 days. Confidence is high:)

That’s good to hear. My suspiciousness is just elevated in these times. Even a reasonable price starts to sound like too good to be true right now.

I knew the Henry Golden Boy 44mag rifle with scope for $400 was a good deal. This one sounded good but I wasn't sure:) The Henry is long since comfy in my safe:) blockquote widget

I get what you're saying.  Just tough to pass up a good deal.  At least what sounds like one.
