Gun Show - Smyrna TN - Feb28-Mar1

I found one M1A Scout w/ walnut, but the price was around $1900 + tax. I passed on that...other than that, ammo prices were through the roof and I could hardly walk around in there. NOt as much non-gun stuff as I was expecting. Overall, plenty to look at, but I did not shell out any $ aside from admission.

We drove down around noon and the parking lot and the place was slammed. There

was a line down the front of the building. Did not have the heart to fight the crowd with my 4 year old.

TDR, you are going to love that 220. I have a Custom Shop 220 Elite SAO, it is by far my favorite pistol. Did you get it off a individual? I'm getting a 228 or 229 next if I can find the right deal.

I got it off a vendor, but it was from his private collection. Not taxes or TICS. I'm very happy.

I thought it was a pretty good show. It was crowded and the line was long. I stayed as long as I could stand it. It was a great way to kill some time on a Saturday morning.

We got there today around noon. Took a while to find parking, then there was about a 5-10 minute wait in line to get in. It was crowded, to say the least. I saw several vendors and private sellers with LCPs, and a few KelTecs. Prices ran the gamut, I saw a couple of Marlin 30-30s that seemed reasonable (I almost bought one), but most stuff was overpriced.

I spent a couple of hours there today. I was really unhappy about the prices I saw. Even the C&R stuff was twice what it should bring or more. Example: A nothing special Mosin-Nagant looking like it just came from J&G Sales, for $189.00. .303 Enfields in poor shape running around $250. Mausers? Fugettaboudit. Oh well, I only spent $9 for an afternoon of looking at guns. Coulda spent a lot more money and had a lot less fun.

There was a guy standing in line right in front of me, and be bought a VERY nice M44 carbine for $100 from another person in line. I almost thought about offering the guy $120, but I decided against that. It was in super condition.

Guns for America usually has a good selection and decent prices. I bought a Glock 30sf @ the last show from them for $539.00

(And the eye candy wasn't bad either!:hat:)

Anyone know what the times are today? Are they the same as yesterday? I was there yesterday and they were packed. Everyone said they have never seen it so crowded. I bought a couple of holsters, a wallet and a couple of knives. Wife and I are going back today. No real Gun bargins from venders though. Private sales were not much better but there were a few.
