That is true and even extends to forums like this.  I am not being anti free speech. But with free speech comes some personal responsibility for what you say. What you say on a public forum or with signs in your yard, or with bumper stickers, or on social media can help you or hurt you.  A good prosecutor will use your words against you. Regardless of when you said them.

Y'all worry about proving a defamation suit. MSM are major corporations like any other. Odds are if Kyle files a suit, they'll pay big just to get him to go away.

OTOH: if he wants to make an example of them, the fight is on!

I spent the last 3 weeks watching/listening to a solid 3/4 of the proceedings via the Rekieta stream. It was an excellent and extremely illuminating insight into this case in specific and the legal system as a whole.

For me the biggest takeaway is that if the prosecution was willing to go that far and engage in such blatant misconduct when the cameras were on, what are they getting away with when the cameras are off? It was really quite sickening.

With this new experience... are you for the death penalty?

I’ve been against the death penalty for years for multiple reasons. The experience isn’t that new and my statements were directed specifically at Binger and Krause. I’ve long understood that prosecutorial misconduct is much more common that folks like to admit. This was just a glaring and blatant example.

The West Memphis Three case did it for me.  If there isnt like concrete multiple methods of confirmation I just dont see the death penalty as being a moral method of punishment.

Obviously some cases are different.

Even with concrete confirmation, I can’t morally justify killing someone after the immediate moment of danger has passed, nor the state having the discretionary power of life and death over the citizenry. Lethal force as self defense in the moment to protect life and liberty is one thing. Taking someone who is safely separated from society and then killing them fails the basic tests of morality even if the system were able to perfectly assign guilt 100% of the time. Something that is an impossibility based on the involvement of people in designing and operating that system.

Rittenhouse was a guest on the right-wing podcast “You Are Here” on Monday night. During the appearance, co-host Sydney Watson told him that the killings were “kind of impressive” and that “of all the people that you shot at, you killed probably two of the worst on the planet.”

"It's nothing to be congratulated about,” Rittenhouse responded. “Like, if I could go back, I wish I would never have had to take somebody’s life."

Rittenhouse went on to explain that he has regrets about going to Kenosha that evening.

“Well, hindsight being 20/20, probably not the best idea to go down there,” Rittenhouse said. “Can’t change that. But I defended myself and that’s what happened.”

Yeah, I think Rittenhouse regrets what he did but, would do it again if he had to. Nobody wants to be a situation like that. I'm sure it made a lot of Libs cry when he got the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

The more I hear from Kyle the better he looks and the worse others do. He responded well to that. The fact that conservatives are trying to make him a hero is just as disgusting as the people trying to make him out to be a monster.

I doubt he’ll ever put himself in that situation again.

What Presidential Medal of Freedom?

He continues to impress me. I hope he continues to drown out the noise and follow his dreams.

He got a medal. Could be fake, who knows. At least it's online. I know you can't believe everything you see online but, it's there. Let me know if it's not real. Thanks.

That qualifies as a huge understatement ...

Given the current occupant of the White House, I'm betting "fake" is a real possibility ...

Yeah, let’s just make it up as we go.  It’s bad enough Trump Jr is spreading that bull#### but now Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has introduced a bill to give him the Congressional Gold Medal.

It’s like there’s a contest to see who can be the stupidest in this country.  Guess who loses at that?

I've known for a long time the democrats were stupid and crazy. I thought the republicans had at least a bit of common sense. But after all that's happened since Covid came out, I now know I was dead wrong. 🤬
