Securing guns

Recommended Posts

I'm moving to a new apartment soon, with maintenance guys having free reign to go to and fro I was wondering what's the best way to secure my guns. Short of buying a 1000 safe? I'm considering a heavy duty locking cabinet mounted in the closet which can be had for a few hundred dollars and saving for a nice heavy duty fireproof safe.

If your going to spent a "few hundred" then your real close to having enough $$ for a fire rated heavy walled safe. I seen them at Sam's and others on sale in the past in the $700 range.

Good Luck,

Wally

I live in a second floor apartment, and I just got one of these. I am more than happy with the purchase.

It weighs about 200 pounds, so it's big/heavy enough that someone isn't going to simply walk away with it, but it's not too big to get up the stairs. I'm a pretty big/strong guy, and I was able to use an appliance do get it up stairs by myself. Yes, I did stuggle a little, but it wasn't too bad.
