Glock Gen 2 vs Gen 3 Trigger

Shake the cobwebs out of your heads on ancient Glocks and help me out here.

Did something change in the trigger between Gen 2 and 3 Glocks?

I have a G2 23 bought brand new in 1992 that I shoot far better than a G3 19 bought brand new maybe 6 or 7 years ago.  Way more rounds have been put through the G3 19.  The G2 23’s trigger is simply superior and I shoot it much better.

Strange that the gun with fewer rounds has the better trigger.

Does your Gen 2 23 have a smooth trigger, or serrated?

Didn’t they increase the trigger poundage from like 4.4 lbs to 6 lbs. on that change?  I have a Gen 2 G17, that I bought new, and it has a very good trigger.

I thought it was interesting that you posted this when you did. Coincidentally, I shot my G23 Gen 2 (bought new in 1996 if I remember correctly) the same day you posted this, and I was thinking the same thing that it has a much better trigger than any of the newer Glocks I've shot over the years. About 5 years ago I bought a G17 Gen 4, and just didn't like it, couldn't shoot it as well as the old 23 so I sold it. Since then I've bought and shot Gen 3's, Gen 4's and Gen 5's in various calibers and I don't think any of them feel quite as good as the old 23. Quantitatively I think the trigger has a shorter uptake, crisper break and shorter reset than any of my newer ones. It could use a new slide lock spring and probably needs a new recoil spring, but the overall feel of it is just better somehow. Guess it's kinda like St. Pauli Girl...

@Garufa did you make this thread while drunk and then forget about it? 😀

Nope. Just haven’t heard the answer I’m looking for.
